IP XX is an international code used to identify the protection level. IP grade is composed of two numbers, the first number is dust-proof, the second is waterproof, and the larger the number, the better the protection level is.

IP 65 is dust dense (no dust entering) and water spray proof (spraying water in all directions of the shell has no harmful effect), which can completely prevent dust from entering.

IP66 is dust dense (no dust into) and high-pressure jet water, which can completely prevent dust from entering.
When it is subjected to high-pressure violent water jet, the electrical appliances are not obstructed. The protection grade of LED searchlight series reaches IP66.
IP68 waterproof test is: ensure to work in 10m water depth for 2 weeks without water inflow; put it into 100m water depth and test for 12 hours, it can still maintain the good performance of the product. The protection grade of LED underwater lamp reaches IP68, which is in line with the highest international protection level.
A qualified LED lamp should not only have a good image and full functions, but also have a high safety protection coefficient, which is what the public want.
Are LED Lights Waterproof?
There are many types of LED lights, according to their design and use occasions, some are waterproof, and some are not waterproof.
Generally speaking, indoor lighting fixtures, such as tubes, downlights, spotlights, etc., have a protection level of IP20 or below, that is, they are not waterproof. Therefore, the user manual needs to specifically indicate that this lamp should not be used in underwater or humid environments.
However, most outdoor lighting fixtures are waterproof, because outdoor lighting fixtures suffer from the erosion of wind, frost, rain and snow all the year round. If the waterproof performance is not good, it will have a considerable adverse effect on the performance of the fixture, and it will also bring Security risks.
In theoretical design, IP44 can play a better dustproof and waterproof function, but considering that within the design life cycle of LED lamps (usually 5 years), outdoor lamps will encounter various rain and haze all year round. , Frost and hail weather, so for safety reasons, the best protection level can be IP65 and above, so as to ensure that no dust and water droplets penetrate into the lamp body, thereby protecting the life of the lamp and the safety of users/crowd.

For large amounts of water ingress, high-power LED floodlights are also electronic products.
