A summary of lighting standards for stadiums

According to the relevant international sports building standards, stadiums and gymnasiums can be classified according to [Table 1] according to their use functions and TV broadcast requirements.

Standard Value of Chinese Venue Lighting

Comprehensive China “Sports Building Electrical Design Code” JGJ354-2014, “Sports Stadium Lighting Design and Testing Standards” JGJ 153-2007, “Venue Lighting Use Requirements and Inspection Methods Part 1: Outdoor Football Fields and Comprehensive Stadiums” TY/T 1002.1 -2005 and other standards, introduce relevant indicators one by one.

Horizontal illumination

The standard value of the horizontal illuminance of the site lighting shall meet the requirements of [Table 2].

★Vertical illuminance

The vertical illuminance of the lighting of the venue is not assessed for level III and below, and the standard value of vertical illuminance must meet the requirements of [Table 3].

Shooting and archery events are special, and the standard value of the vertical illuminance of the bullseye should be:

Class III and below 1000lx;

Class IV and Class V 1500lx;

Class VI 2000lx.

★Evenness

The standard value of the uniformity of the horizontal illumination of the site lighting should meet the requirements of [Table 4].

★Light source chromaticity parameters

The color rendering index of the site lighting source is not less than 65, and the correlated color temperature is 3500~6500K. The details are different from the level of the competition, the situation of TV broadcast, and the sports.

★Glare

The glare index GR value should meet the requirements in the table below.

★Lighting calculation

The maintenance coefficient value during lighting calculation shall be selected according to the following requirements:

①The indoor site maintenance coefficient is 0.8;

②The maintenance coefficient of general outdoor places is 0.8, and that of severely polluted areas is 0.7.

③For outdoor stadiums in foggy areas, the influence of the atmosphere shall be included, and the atmospheric absorption coefficient shall be taken as required by the following table;

④The allowable deviation of the design illuminance value should not exceed the standard value of illuminance ﹢10%
